History & introduction

1. Munawwar Foundation is registered as a trust since 14th December 1999 as a public trust.

2. The Munawwar Foundation was founded with the object to promote establishment of health and education facilities, and to facilitate research in these fields.

3. The foundation is to utilize all its resources, wholly for these purposes.

Munawwar Foundation is a registered charity working to eliminate preventable blindness through its sister organization Munawwar Memorial Hospital Chakwal. We are also developing the human resource particularly in the field of health. Munawwar Foundation has been approved as a tax exempt Charitable Institution by the Regional Commissioner of Income Tax and Wealth Tax, Northern Region Islamabad

Role of MF

Several welfare projects are being funded by Munawwar Foundation and the activities are done through MMH in Tehsil Chakwal. Following are the projects;

School Eye Health Project

Cornea Tissue Project

Cornea Tissue Project started in April 2010 has facilitated 70 patients till June 2011. Patients needing Cornea Keratoplasty are provided Cornea tissues for restoration of their eye sight. Munawwar Foundation along with PIMS (Pakistan Institute of Medical Sciences) and Shifa International Islamabad is working for the reduction of blindness in Pakistan.
